This "reverse thread" tool is also available from european Snap-On dealers. Also you might want to buy one size smaller (11), because some cars (like new A6 3.0TDI) has 4 screws with two different sizes.

You can get them but they are made to order and there is a minimum quantity (I think 100), so probably not viable unless you use a lot or are prepared to buy in bulk and sell them on?

Wrong, just order any amount you need... I have the parts numbers somewhere will dig it out and just order from your local VAG maindealership

I have that snapon tool and it is not so good. Wears very fast. Hot air is what you need. And yes you can buy new bolts in your dealer.

I got the snapon tool and it looks like it won't fit my US-spec MKV Jetta TDI. There's not enough room for the socket between the screws and firewall.

Pyropen the bolts to heat them and use pliers to remove.
