This "reverse thread" tool is also available from european Snap-On dealers. Also you might want to buy one size smaller (11), because some cars (like new A6 3.0TDI) has 4 screws with two different sizes.

You can get them but they are made to order and there is a minimum quantity (I think 100), so probably not viable unless you use a lot or are prepared to buy in bulk and sell them on? :(

Buy Snap-on Blue Point 12 tfsy12a

Works perfect.

Do you heat up the screws with hot air first? Does that Snap-on socket wear out after 50+ cars? (I'm wondering how many I should buy)

I would like the part numbers for original (style) bolts too.

I have that snapon tool and it is not so good. Wears very fast. Hot air is what you need.
And yes you can buy new bolts in your dealer.

Pyropen ftw. It's perfect for lighting cigarettes too.

So you just heat up screws and remove with a plier?

I got the snapon tool and it looks like it won't fit my US-spec MKV Jetta TDI. There's not enough room for the socket between the screws and firewall.

Pyropen the bolts to heat them and use pliers to remove.
