Hello,

Have hit a dead-end with this car,

Only in 3rd gear, at 6500rpm, it suddenly hesitates, missfires and the MIL blinks.

Gives codes for ignition coils, but for sure thats not the issue.

VCDS Channel 20 sees -3.5 deg of knock, so fuelling is off.

Any ideas?

chek your preather valve. it is in your valve cover.... sorry my language i hope this helps

-3.5 deg correction is not too bad at all. What is the boost pressure like at this RPM , actual vs Requested ? Also , only in third gear ?? MAF readings at this RPM ?

change plugs to BKR7ES and gap them to 0.028

yes, is that simple... you can try to gap your actual spark plugs but these ones are way better...
we work every day all day with Audi/Vw cars and after chip tuning they need this little change...

ohh and yes... coils can be your problem... you need to see with your vag-com and do logs from engine block 020, 015, 016.

hi there ,

They come from the factory @ 0.0290 , correct ?

Do you observe blow out under boost ?

What is special about the BKR7ES besides one heat range colder ?

Hi,
Some of these cars (2.0 TFSI 265hp 272hp) have a problem on exhaust valve spring.
Try to ask to Audi dealer with the vin number if you car have wrong spring...

Very important...

These plugs have solved us 3 issues just like yours... that makes them special. :)

and yes, that boost sound is typical but just on low rpms when boost is building.

I don't think he is concerned with the boost sound so much as the the spark being blown out. :lol:

Maybe also he is hitting the common Fuel Cut issues due to bad Cam Follower or Bad High Pressure Fuel Pump....

He never told us if his car has being chipped or not did he?

indeed, problem was repaired with a new (oem) high pressure fuel pump

i would ask the dealer anyway for the service action with the valve springs
