The eeprom 58253 is the same as 24c02 ?

Should i plump it out to read.

I have read a 24c04 from a T4 with a clamy without plump

You have to desolder them, reading them in circuit is inherently unreliable.

The Old Willem LPT units are superb for this job. They can suply enough power to allow read of the Eeprom in circuit.

Post Re: Immo EEprom EDC15V AFN
In North America we are blessed with completely immo-free Msa15 ECUs. However, an Euro 038 906 018 FE just landed on my desk and my local client needs the immo chip taken care of for his engine conversion.

I identified the immo chip as Microchip B58253 24C02.

The Galep-5 software presents me three options for a Microchip 24C02:
  • 24C02A (SOIC 8-pin)
  • 24C02B (SOIC 8-pin)
  • 24C02C (SOIC 8-pin)

Which is the correct one? Or will any 3 work? I Googled 'Microchip B58253' all it brings back is '24C02', which is vague in the context of Galep-5.

Did you mean SGS-THOMSON (Stm)? Galep-5 lists 2 devices for that manufacturer: M24C02 and M24C02-W.

There is no ST_Thompson or similar in the manufacture list.

Just got a reply from Galep-5 manufacturer - they said that any of the Microchip 24C02 options should work (24C02A, 24C02B, or 24C02C). They did not say why they gave these 3 options though.
